When a family is caring for a child whose life will be short, they often face a daily struggle without the care and support they need. At the moment, 90% of families in Wales who face the death of their child are not receiving the support they need. This should not be allowed to happen.
In the hospice, and in Welsh communities and family homes, they are here to care for the children and young people who need them, helping to make their short lives as full as they can be and, when the time comes, provide end-of-life care and ongoing bereavement support.
Thank you for considering donating to our partner Tŷ Hafan, a children's hospice based in Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Tŷ Hafan is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has achieved so much since it opened, but there's still more work to do reach every family in Wales who faces the death of their child.
No parent ever imagines their child will die before them, but sadly this is the reality facing thousands of families every day in Wales.
More children than ever before are being diagnosed with life-shortening conditions and Tŷ Hafan reaches just 10% of those families. Looking to the future, Tŷ Hafan wants to offer all families who need support the opportunity to access expert services, whether that's in the hospice, in the home or in communities in Wales.
It costs over £1,300 to deliver each local Community Hub, but for a family facing the unimaginable loss of their child, being able to go to one of Tŷ Hafan's Community Hubs is a lifeline.
But Tŷ Hafan can only reach more families with your support.
By donating today, you are transforming the lives of lots of families in Wales.
On behalf of Tŷ Hafan, thank you for supporting children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
